How to Select the Right TPU7-40 SPD Version
Two choices determine the right variant: system voltage and pole configuration.
- Voltage: match the SPD rating to your system’s maximum DC voltage. For modern 1500V PV strings choose the 1500V version; for 1000V systems choose 1000V, and so on. Always select a rating at or above the system’s maximum operating voltage.
- Poles (2P vs 3P): the 2P version protects DC+ and DC− with the earth connection below. The 3P version adds a dedicated central grounding pole for a more complete protection arrangement; it is the common choice for higher-voltage and grounded configurations.
- Placement: as a Type II device, install it at the DC distribution box or PV combiner box, close to the equipment being protected.
