Product Overview

The TPX7-C3 is an enclosed, 2-pole DC miniature circuit breaker box rated for DC 600V and load currents up to 63A,
built into an IP66/IK10 polycarbonate housing for outdoor solar and energy-storage applications. It provides overload
and short-circuit protection for a single DC circuit — such as a PV string, a battery branch, or a DC feeder — in a
ready-to-mount, weather-sealed unit that removes the need to assemble a separate enclosure and breaker on site.

The enclosure carries an IP66 ingress rating and an IK10 impact rating, and operates across an ambient range of –25°C
to +60°C, making it suitable for rooftop, ground-mount, and harsh-climate sites across the Middle East, Africa, and
Southeast Asia. With an ultimate breaking capacity (Icu) of 6kA and a 2-pole configuration that isolates both the
positive and negative conductors, the TPX7-C3 is designed for DC systems where reliable disconnection under fault
conditions is required.

The unit is engineered to align with IEC 60947-2, and its internal protection components are built with parts sourced
from certified supply-chain partners. Current ratings from 10A to 63A let the same enclosure platform be specified
across residential, commercial, and off-grid installations.

Applications

  • Residential rooftop solar
    — protects individual PV strings or the DC feeder in home solar systems, mounted directly on exterior walls thanks to
    its IP66/IK10 rating.
  • Commercial & industrial PV
    — used as a compact, dedicated DC disconnect and protection point for sub-arrays or DC combiner outputs in C&I
    rooftop and carport installations.
  • Off-grid & energy storage (ESS)
    — provides overload and short-circuit protection on battery branch circuits and DC feeders in off-grid and hybrid
systems where a sealed, standalone breaker enclosure is preferred.

FAQ

What is a DC MCB box used for?

A DC MCB box is an enclosed miniature circuit breaker that provides overload and short-circuit protection for a single DC circuit, such as a PV string or a battery branch. The sealed enclosure lets it be mounted outdoors without a separate weatherproof box.

Can the TPX7-C3 be used on a DC 1000V PV system?

No. The TPX7-C3 is rated up to DC 600V, so it is intended for DC systems operating at or below that level. For DC 1000V string systems, use a device rated for DC 1000V.

Is the TPX7-C3 DC MCB box certified?

The TPX7-C3 is engineered to align with IEC 60947-2. Component certificates are available through TYPLE’s qualified supply-chain partners.

What is the difference between a 2-pole and a 1-pole DC MCB?

A 2-pole DC MCB switches and isolates both the positive and negative conductors, which is the standard requirement for ungrounded PV DC circuits. A 1-pole device breaks only one conductor and is used where the other pole is already isolated elsewhere.

What is the maximum current rating of the TPX7-C3?

The TPX7-C3 is available in current ratings from 10A up to 63A. The ultimate breaking capacity (Icu) is 6kA.

What is the operating temperature range?

The TPX7-C3 operates in ambient temperatures from –25°C to +60°C (–13°F to 140°F), suitable for hot-climate and outdoor installations.
