TPSP-75 Series 75W Switching Power Supply

Single-output enclosed AC-DC supply, 85-264 VAC universal input, 12/15/24/36/48 VDC, up to 91.5% efficiency, hiccup-mode overload protection to EN60950-1.

The TPSP-75 is a 75 W single-output switching power supply that converts a universal AC input into a regulated DC output. It accepts 85 to 264 VAC and delivers a fixed nominal output of 12, 15, 24, 36, or 48 VDC, with the output adjustable over a defined range. The enclosed case measures 99 x 97 x 30 mm, which suits control cabinets and equipment with limited mounting depth. It is cooled by free air convection, with no fan. The series is used in industrial control, automation, LED lighting, and instrumentation.

Protection and reliability

The output is protected against overload from 110 to 150% of rated power. The protection uses hiccup mode: the supply repeatedly attempts to restart and recovers automatically once the fault is removed, without manual reset. The working temperature range is -20 to +70 °C, with output derating at higher ambient temperatures per the derating curve. Calculated MTBF is 681.2 k hours minimum to MIL-HDBK-217F at 25 °C.

Output and regulation

The TPSP-75 provides one isolated DC output. The output voltage is set at the factory to the nominal value and can be trimmed on board across the adjustment range, for example 21.6 to 28.8 V on the 24 V version. Line and load regulation are held within ±0.5%, and the output voltage tolerance is ±1.0%. Rated power across the range is close to 75 W, so the available current depends on the output voltage: 6 A at 12 V down to 1.6 A at 48 V.

Input and efficiency

The input accepts 85 to 264 VAC (or 120 to 373 VDC) at 47 to 63 Hz, so one part number covers most mains supplies without a voltage selector. Typical efficiency is 89% on the lower-voltage versions and up to 91.5% on the 36 V and 48 V versions, which keeps internal heating and input current low. Inrush current is limited at cold start, and leakage current is below 0.75 mA at 240 VAC.

Applications

The TPSP-75 powers control and signal circuits in industrial automation panels, machine builds, and instrumentation. The 12 V and 24 V versions are common for LED lighting, signage, and sensor and PLC supply, while the 36 V and 48 V versions suit communication equipment and motor or actuator driver circuits. The compact case and convection cooling make it suitable for sealed enclosures where a fan is not wanted.

FAQs

What input voltage does the TPSP-75 accept?

It accepts a universal input of 85 to 264 VAC, or 120 to 373 VDC, at 47 to 63 Hz. There is no manual voltage selector, so one part number works on most mains supplies worldwide.

Is the output voltage adjustable?

Yes. Each version has a fixed nominal output that can be trimmed on board across a defined range, for example 10.2 to 13.8 V on the 12 V version and 43.2 to 52.8 V on the 48 V version. Line and load regulation stay within ±0.5%.

How does the hiccup-mode overload protection work?

When the output is loaded beyond 110 to 150% of rated power, the supply enters hiccup mode and repeatedly attempts to restart at intervals. It recovers automatically once the overload or short circuit is removed, with no manual reset required.

What is the operating temperature, and does the output need derating?

The working temperature range is -20 to +70 °C. The full 75 W is available up to a defined ambient temperature, above which the output is derated per the derating curve. Storage range is -40 to +85 °C.

Which safety standards does it meet?

It is built to EN60950-1, EN60335-1, and EN61558-1. Conformity documents for the destination market are supplied with the order, provided through TYPLE’s qualified-supplier network under ISO 9001 quality control, with certificate references available on request.
